The Whittling Pack.
If you have ever watched me whittle a lifelike songbird and thought, āIād love to try that,ā you are in the right place.
This pack is not just a product; it is the beginning of a creative whittling journey. For years, I have helped friends and customers carve their very first bird, and every one of them started with this: a Nuthatch block of limewood (eyes included), guided by 29 photos on how to whittle a bird.

The knife is not included? Due to new UK laws around selling knives online, it is easier (and safer) to purchase one from your local DIY shop or order from Amazon.
What Knife Is Required?
I personally use a fixed-blade Stanley knife, which is simple, reliable, and does the job beautifully. If you would like extra protection, hand and finger gloves are a great option. Comfort and safety go hand in hand when whittling.
Other Helpful Tips.
I would suggest having a box, or you can use a file tray to catch the chippings, and this is a great place to put your knife, pencil, and sandpaper if you decide to sand the bird.
